Etruscan Carnelian Scarab set in a silver loop, Ca . 6th-5th cent.B.C. This is a very rare type of Etruscan scarab set in a silver setting .The scarab itself is carved out of carnelian and depicts an antelope on its underside. The scarab rotates in its bezel ,thus this pieces is a wonderful example of an Etruscan scarab in its original setting. Ex Rockford College Art Collection.Dia. 1 3/8’’
